About
A little about me: The Worm Egg Count Lady - Kirsty Moore

My love of horses was evident from an early age and something I've never grown out of, much to the disappointment of my dad!
With over 20 years of experience working with all shapes and sizes of equine in a variety of settings (riding schools, stud yards, academic settings and research) and over 10 years horse ownership experience, I know how important it is to have high levels of horse husbandry to optimise health, welfare and performance.
With a keen interest in science, a wealth of knowledge regarding equine health and welfare, and a good understanding of the practicalities of both horse care and yard management, I am able to offer an affordable, professional service that enables you to manage your approach to worming effectively.

Why are worm egg counts important?
Completing worm egg counts every 8-12 weeks is important for improving equine health, welfare and performance. It provides us with a deeper understanding of your horses parasitic burden, allowing a more targeted approach to worming (if necessary).
Routine 'blanket worming' is no longer recommended as it is causing an increase in worm resistance to certain groups of wormer - if this continues it will have a catastrophic impact on equine health moving forwards. It is our responsibility as horse owners to limit further resistance developing.
Take the stress out of worming, contact me today for friendly advice or to book your next worm egg count.

I look forward to meeting you.
